Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator, Inc.
Mr. Bear is President and Chief Operating Officer of the Midwest ISO responsible for all market operations; day ahead and real-time markets, pricing and settlement, financial transmission rights, market policy and product development, transmission planning, strategic planning and information technology. Additionally, he directs the Ancillary Services Markets (ASM) initiative.
Mr. Bear is a member of the ReliabilityFirst Board of Directors. ReliabilityFirst is one of the eight approved Regional Entities in North America, under the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC). His current term expires in 2009.
Mr. Bear is a recognized industry leader in market development and operations management. Prior to joining the Midwest ISO, Mr. Bear was President of Reliant Resource's mid-Atlantic and mid-Continent regions, where he directed all operations and commercial activity for the Houston-based energy company. Mr. Bear previously served as Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director of Reliant's European operations, where he made significant contributions to the restructuring and development of the Netherlands market as a board member of the Amsterdam Power Exchange (APX).
A native of Richardson, Texas, Mr. Bear graduated from Southern Methodist University where he earned a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in finance, and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance and accounting. | |
